Biography

Wendy Marsh, M.D., M.S.,received her B.A. from Pomona College and completed medical school at Wayne State University. During medical school she was awarded a fellowship at the National Institute of Mental health (NIMH) where she researched depression and behavioral endocrinology. She completed her residency in Psychiatry at Stanford University where she engaged in research into mood and women. She continued at Stanford as a Fellow in clinical research studying bipolar disorder and reproductive endocrinology on an NIMH Biobehavioral Training Grant.

Dr. Marsh is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry; Director of the Bipolar Disorders Specialty Clinic; a psychiatrist in the Women’s Mental Health Clinic; and a perinatal psychiatrist in the MCPAP for Moms program, all at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical School and UMass Memorial Medical Center. Since arriving at UMass she has primarily engaged in research on bipolar disorder and menopause, supported by a career development award. She continues to focus on mood disorders in relation to reproductive phases. She also teaches and supervises residents. She has produced approximately 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, multiple international presentations, and a number of book chapters.
