Biography

Dr. Samuel Wilkinson graduated from medical school at John Hopkins University and completed his psychiatric residency training at Yale University. He is an assistant professor at Yale and is the Assistant Director of the Yale Depression Research Program.

His research interests focus on developing ways to improve the quality of care in the community for psychiatric patients, with a special interest in improving access to and dissemination of preventive measures and evidence-based therapies for treatment-resistant depression. These include electroconvulsive therapy. He is interested in novel therapeutics, including research examining the rapid-acting antidepressant effects of ketamine. He also has an interest in the potential therapeutic and adverse effects of cannabinoids as well as United States policy relating to the medical and recreational use of cannabinoids.
