Biography
Dr. Kerstina Boctor is a geriatric psychiatrist with a strong commitment to enhancing patient and caregiver well-being. Her expertise lies in the realms of neurocognitive disorders, movement disorders, and geriatric addictions. She takes pleasure in employing a hybrid approach to her practice, engaging with diverse cases across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Boctor firmly believes in making knowledge equitable and accessible for all. This philosophy fuels her enthusiasm for instructing and guiding various audiences, including residents, medical students, patients, and caregivers. At present, her research pursuits are primarily centered around dementia; however, they remain dynamic and adaptable to the trajectory of her expanding career.
Her educational journey has been enriched by a general psychiatry residency at the University of Saskatchewan. She subsequently completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and has a masters of applied sciences from Johns Hopkins, where her focus was on geospatial analysis for public health. She is eager to integrate the insights gained from that program into her future psychiatric research endeavors.
