Biography

Derek Tracy is a consultant psychiatrist and the Associate Clinical Director for Crisis, Inpatient, and Rehabilitation Services at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, London. His clinical interests include patient experience and implementing electronic outcome measurements. He is a BRC research fellow and the neuromodulation lead at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology &Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London.

He runs the Basic Mental Health and Specialist Psychopharmacology modules on the MSc in Mental Health Studies, and the Foundation module in Community Mental Health on King’s College London's distance learning MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health.

He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and in 2015, was awarded the IoPPN’s Teaching Excellence Award. He has written eight book chapters and more than 55 peer review papers, mostly on psychopharmacology and psychosis. Dr Tracy sits on the editorial board of the British Journal of Psychiatry and writes its Kaleidoscope and Highlights columns.
